Today we’re listening to self-described “sad acoustic songs”, sharing news of a new gig format from Rusty Hip Collective in Dundee, and providing yet more music recommendations from the underground scene.
If you’ve enjoyed RM Hubbert’s 13 lost and found record, the Scottish underground scene has plenty more where that came from. In recent weeks I’ve covered Little Anchors. Today it’s the turn of Owen McLaughlin, a.k.a. Gone Wishing.
This is the same guy I mentioned in the initial The Won Over article.
…Owen McLaughlin, is better known locally for his endless DIY gig promotion of US/UK touring bands as well as knocking out hardcore riffs in his other band Bonehouse…
Inbetween the DIY gig promotion and playing in two other bands, Owen’s acoustic songs get a chance to emerge as Gone Wishing.
As he’s based in Dundee and involved with The Rusty Hip Collective, it’s not surprising that you can hear him play live this Friday. The lineup looks excellent and music lovers are encouraged to go along and support all the artists.
And in case you’re wondering, this is a brief post as I’m off shortly to see Mudhoney + Meat Puppets + METZ play Glasgow! Yowsers!!
