Music Language Festival 2013 compilation

in-posterface-compilationLeftfield and experimental art is the order of the day with acts like In Posterface so I’ve squeezed in an unrelated clip of The Hazey Janes to maintain balance in the force. Spain loved The Zephrys too y’know.

That latest Glasgow mini-festival I mentioned earlier this week? They have released a compilation on bandcamp featuring some of the artists involved such as In Posterface.

It’s a ‘name your price’ download with all proceeds going to festival production costs. As it’s a truly independent affair, it’s easily worth the price of a pint or two.

For those of you not at T in the Park this weekend, have a listen and see how many of the 22 leftfield pop and experimental acts you recognise. There’s quite a few I’m not familiar with, although I dare say Q Magazine wouldn’t know many of them either. Not a bad Scottish list from Q though. It could have been a lot worse!

This seems like an ideal time for my daily “haven’t got round to writing about the new Adam Stafford record” excuse. Maybe instead of writing about it in full, I’ll just repeat this excuse every day until I get bored of plugging it. That could work. After all, you can’t lose a readership if you don’t have one in the first place.

I’ll leave you with this completely unrelated live performance by The Hazey Janes who are recording their new album in Spain as I type this. Having supported Wilco not so long ago and grown beyond all recognition, Dundee’s finest pop band could be about to craft their ultimate masterpiece. Fingers crossed!
