Alex talks to Kristin Hersh and Dave Narcizo of US underground stalwarts Throwing Muses in a conversation that takes in the time saving advantages of pronouncing certain words certain ways, what a Gameboy is, psychic requests, and a few minutes talking about their new album.
Earlier today I attended day three of ‘Book Yer Ane Fest‘ – Dundee’s annual DIY mini-festival – and managed to catch several great bands. But I’m not going to write about that. Not yet anyway. Especially as that particular event is still ongoing as I type. Right now I’m writing up this entry because there’s yet another podcast from Alex to let you know about. Seriously, another one! He’s on a roll.
Future Library’s latest guests are none other than Throwing Muses. Which immediately puts me in mind of 1997/8, being back at Dundee Uni and hearing them from other cooler people’s record collections. Funnily enough I was listening to them not that long ago and trying to figure out which track I should include in my main playlist. You see, I have one main playlist that I listen to most days while doing my dayjob. Sure, I add and subtract to it regularly but there’s a mainstay of tracks that tend to stay in. So if you have any recommendations as to which Throwing Muses track I should add, feel free to use the comments section below. Knowing me, I’ll end up using a track off their latest release.
Enjoy.
