‘Best Survival Knife’ and ‘Milf Webcam’ may sound like terrible punk bands but they are in fact two spambots who tried to comment today. Maybe they were excited about the return of UNITED FRUIT?
No-one likes to be ignored. You do your best work and then you’re left sitting on the ledge area of an ATM wondering where it all went wrong. At least I’m sure that’s what the discarded banana peel was thinking when I saw it earlier. Seriously, who lives in Shawlands and leaves a banana peel on an ATM? Use a fucking bin! There’s already a telephone pole around the corner with a laminated A4 message threatening to kill the person who keeps leaving a bag of rubbish in front of it every morning.
Drawing any kind of connection between today’s observation and the return of UNITED FRUIT would be tenuous at best. The fact is nobody should write off one of the best underground bands to come out of Glasgow in recent years. A band is only ever ten or twelve songs away from greatness.
A new album is on the way and the band hit the road in March. Keep an ear out for new tracks and see the live show if you can.
